To appreciate why this software is being written, you may want to read Professor Stephen Hawking's description of his experience with ALS

eLocutor can be used by anyone who has problems using fingers to type on a keyboard: people with spinal injuries, carpal tunnel, repetitive strain, etc. For those who, in addition, cannot speak, it includes text to speech, so that what is typed (or "canned" sentences) can be spoken by the computer.

The help is partly in the form of .avi video files, which should be unzipped and saved in the c:\eLocutor\helpvideos directory.

You can also download a  Powerpoint presentation on eLocutor

This software is being discussed at radiophony@yahoogroups.com -- please do let us have your feedback.
